Pam’s work is in response to images that appear in her mind, always in color. As she works to capture the images on canvas, she realizes that the shapes and colors represent her in various spiritual stages. Sometimes her spirit is bound by the concerns of the world and other times it flies or dreams of flying to another universe of perfect harmony. The marks that she makes are the path of spiritual freedom that she experiences when she paints.
She has spent most of her career as an abstract artist, but her walks on the nature trail that lead to the Wolf River near her home inspired the “Wetlands” landscapes. The trees for her have come to symbolize spiritual transformation. Although they are bound by the earth, they reach for the light.
